"This job has been given to me to do. Therefore, it is a gift. Therefore, it is a privilege. Therefore, it is an offering I may make to God. Therefore, it is to be done gladly, if it is done for Him. Here, not somewhere else, I may learn God's way. In this job, not in some other, God looks for faithfulness." (Elisabeth Elliot)

Tuesday Prayer Needed
Please be in prayer for our dear friends the Norvells. Tomorrow (Tuesday) their sweet little baby James goes in for open heart surgery. Lyd, we love you guys so much, you're both amazing parents.
Holiday Cookie Baking
This year I tried this holiday cookie recipe out: Gingerbread Men Cookies. Couldn't have asked for a better turn out. The dough was really easy to work with and they taste amazing. Also made one of my favorites, Peanut Butter Blossoms. Yum!

Baby Bump Update: 20 Weeks, 3 Days
Wednesday we had a baby shower for my friend and co-worker Rose. She's expecting twin boys the beginning of February. The photo's a little blurry, but still captures a fun memory for the two of us.

The End is Near
Since August 2004, Tim and I have been on the educational journey through graduate school. Now that his coursework has come to an end, I feel so relieved. In the hustle and bustle of this week, that blessing has come to mind and I'm so proud of him.
I think it's hard for people to appreciate something like this. In a modern society where everything seems to be so immediate, the genuine appreciation of long sought out hard work is looked down upon. But that's ok, because we know we've been faithful and God has taught us so much. Patience, perseverance, and above all, obedience to His will in our lives.
Following through isn't easy, especially when the road seems long and narrow. But there is an end, and for this stage it's very near. The beautiful thing is that one end means the beginning of something new, something with it's own challenges and rewards. What a great way to start off 2011! I'm reminded of the last letter that changed everything back in 08 when Tim was accepted into the doctorate program. God has been so good to us.

Final Stretch
Tim and I are on the final stretch of the semester. Between Tim grading papers, preparing for exams and writing his own paper, he has his hands full. Then add in Cub Scouts, church conference and every day stuff like annual eye exams, etc. My poor hubby is ready for a break. I'm on the same page. It's been almost three years since I've had a vacation for this amount of time. I have not seen the Eastern shore and all that's precious that lives upon it for over two years. It's culture shock just thinking about it. A small boy by the name of Zach will sit on my lap for the first time as an almost 2 year old. Wow, Dec. 17th hurry up!
