"This job has been given to me to do. Therefore, it is a gift. Therefore, it is a privilege. Therefore, it is an offering I may make to God. Therefore, it is to be done gladly, if it is done for Him. Here, not somewhere else, I may learn God's way. In this job, not in some other, God looks for faithfulness." (Elisabeth Elliot)

5 Months

Go Redskins!
Tomorrow, my little man will be 5 months old.  Sammy hasn't rolled over yet, but he's getting close.  He has the strength to pivot from his right to his left side on his back to grab toys and can play for extended amounts of time up on his elbows on his tummy.   Once the newborn who hated bath time, he's had a change of heart with the recent discovery that he can splash!  Now bath time also serves as mop time, but that's ok.  He reaches for his toes and one day will figure out how to pull those socks off his parents so faithfully put on him.  He's very verbal!  He loves to hear his own voice and speaks his own little language.  He's sitting in a high chair and started solids a few weeks ago.  So far we've introduced him to rice cereal and home made roasted carrots.  Tim's thrilled that our son likes to watch football.  His Aunt Kara and Uncle Kenny sent him a Redskins jersey before he was born and he sports it well.  I love his fuzzy little hair that has come in over the past few months in addition to his baby hair (so soft).  He likes to give kisses, but they are pretty slobbery.  Another favorite past time is his fascination with Tim's face.  We describe Sammy's behavior as "rearranging Daddy's face".  He will try to make that nose move over by his chin and then move this eye over beside maybe this cheek, but somehow Tim's face doesn't maneuver like that, so Sammy presses on, hoping maybe the next time he will find success.

Now see... I like THIS post a lot. Five months is a really fun age. They are expressive. They are exploring. But they are not quite mobile, yet!
