Surprisingly, this adjustment came at just the right time! I'm 30 pounds lighter. That's right, this past week I hit a weight loss goal. I splurged with a new hair cut. Someone asked me how I was managing without dairy? When there are as many wonderful alternatives out there as I've found, the temptation to splurge has slowly faded away.
Today, I'm going out with some co-workers for lunch at a Mexican joint. I manage by reading the menu thoroughly and creatively troubleshooting for non-dairy alternatives (for example, tacos minus the cheese and sour cream). Here's to 1 month of healthy food choices!

Great job Margie! Working on my weight too. At work we started a competition with the other branchs of our company. There are 29 teams and we are currenlty in 3rd place but we are the biggest team with 30 people and only branch with 100% participation. We are counting steps. Our goal is to at least get 50,000 steps a week. Last week I did 60,000 and this week I am already almost up to 50,000 and still half a week left! It has been fun seeing everyone get excitted about something and something that is good for you!

Christy, that's awesome! Doing something as a group, especially work where you're with each other throughout the day is awesome. I should bring my pedometer to work and try to be more intentional during the day to make sure I'm taking breaks. I just added the new photo album gadget so folks can stay posted on Sammy fixes, glad Auntie likes it. LOVE YOU and so proud. Hope this post was encouraging. Let's make this a year to remember together.
