"This job has been given to me to do. Therefore, it is a gift. Therefore, it is a privilege. Therefore, it is an offering I may make to God. Therefore, it is to be done gladly, if it is done for Him. Here, not somewhere else, I may learn God's way. In this job, not in some other, God looks for faithfulness." (Elisabeth Elliot)

Ribbon Fascination

Searching long and hard at the toy store I was content with the following purchase.  Colorful, lots of things to chew and Sammy loves when I hold it above him to bat at.  Since little man cut his first lower tooth this week I thought he had earned it.  Surrounded by a world of plastic, I was shocked how few toys had tags on them.

So, inspired by my son's new fascination, I'm going to venture in to toy making and see how I can incorporate ribbons and the fabric I have on hand.  My crafting time has become rather non-existent so after Tim's comp exams this week I may have to schedule some time with my sewing machine to make this happen.

I am sure he will love what you make. Luke has that fascination as well as Noah did at one age too! Luke's favorite toy is to play with my hair but that can get painful and make be bald! Has he discovered your hair yet?

Marissa and Zack loved tags too! They had an Elmo that had little tags all around it. I believe that I still have it and will send it along with the other goodies for Sammy :)

I made a few taggy toys for babies. I usually put cleaned plastic from cereal bags in between too to give it the crunch and crackle.

When you're sewing, make sure you really secure the ribbons! I usually put fabrc right sides together with the ribbons sandwiched inside, sewed all around and reversed and sewed again over each ribbon (left one area open for turning), turned, then sewed all around again (not reversing this time). Those ribbons were pretty secure!
