"This job has been given to me to do. Therefore, it is a gift. Therefore, it is a privilege. Therefore, it is an offering I may make to God. Therefore, it is to be done gladly, if it is done for Him. Here, not somewhere else, I may learn God's way. In this job, not in some other, God looks for faithfulness." (Elisabeth Elliot)

Six Months

Sammy, I cannot believe you are six months old.  You are such a fun and curious boy.  You are easily distracted, you love exploration.  You are happiest when you are outdoors.  You discovered your feet this month and eat your toes often.  Eating is still a favorite past time of yours, with tastes like acorn squash, green peas, carrots and your favorite, sweet potatoes.    You're not as much of a grains fan, but willing to try things, like cream of rice and oatmeal.

Your Mommy made her goal in nursing you your first six months!  You've come so far in such a short amount of time.  You play on your tummy for a good amount of time and have begun to experience some of what it's like to roll, but not quite there yet.  You went to your first pumpkin patch today and had a fun time.  This past week your two bottom front teeth surfaced the gum line.  Not the most pleasant of experiences, but you handled them like a champ!

Often you can be found hanging out in the park swing or sitting on the front porch watching the cars pass by.  Your Daddy and I are amused by your intensity when you play with your toys.  Many times you will squeal at them playfully or with a deep rage or passion, and with the throw you have you might be a future pitcher or quarterback.

As I write this you're fast asleep in my arms.  I'm so proud of you and look forward to dedicating you to the Lord in November with your Daddy at church.  We pray for you and are confident God has great things in store for you!  We love you Buddy Bear!
