"This job has been given to me to do. Therefore, it is a gift. Therefore, it is a privilege. Therefore, it is an offering I may make to God. Therefore, it is to be done gladly, if it is done for Him. Here, not somewhere else, I may learn God's way. In this job, not in some other, God looks for faithfulness." (Elisabeth Elliot)

The Ph.D Candidate's Wife
Well, today I am no longer just a philosopher's wife, I am a Ph.D candidate's wife. That's right, Tim passed his oral panel/exam today! Today God was glorified through my husband's good work. I can't imagine how excited he must have felt, walking with the dean of the graduate school across campus with his dissertation packet in his hands. Tim, I am so proud of you! I hope today is a memory you never forget should discouragement ever surface as you enter this final chapter of your education, preparing to write your Ph.D dissertation.
